As more and more dental practices start to reopen, it is more important than ever that patients are aware of what practices are doing to keep them safe whilst they’re visiting.

Many patients will feel nervous about returning to their dental practice after the coronavirus lockdown and ensuring they feel safe will be vital in ensuring dental services can return to pre-lockdown levels.

However, as leaflets and posters will no longer be allowed in many waiting rooms, due to COVID-19 restrictions, communicating this information will be much more difficult. Using a waiting room TV system, such as Envisage Dental TV, can help to alleviate this problem by delivering this information to patients digitally in the waiting room.

New COVID-19 waiting room TV content

To assist our users in communicating this new information, we’ve added even more content to our COVID-19 category. This includes videos on the additional use of PPE, the use of screens at reception and the availability of remote consultations.

Communicating this information in your waiting room helps to reassure patients that you are doing everything to ensure their safety. Some of the latest content includes:

Protective Screens at Reception

Protective screens have been installed in many practices to help protect patients and staff against the spread of COVID-19 and this new video helps patients understand this. There is also a version available which explains that cashless payments, such as credit/debit card and Apple/Google Pay, are now the preferred options.

Remote Consultations

Many dental practices are now offering remote consultations with patients where appropriate for their needs. This can help to reduce pressure on staff at the practice during this difficult time. Our new remote consultation advice video helps make patients aware of the availability of the service and how they can find out more information if they are interested.

Additional use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

In order to comply with the new COVID-19 regulations, many staff outside of the consulting room are now required to wear PPE whilst at the practice. You can make patients aware of this new requirement so they understand why staff may be wearing additional protection. This can help to alleviate any anxieties they may have and improve their experience.
